We are seeking a skilled and proactive Service Engineer to support, maintain and enhance power distribution systems across our manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring electrical supply reliability, responding rapidly to faults, and delivering continuous improvement initiatives that support safe, efficient and uninterrupted production. Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Technical Support Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on LV and HV power distribution equipment, including switchgear, MCCs, distribution boards and UPS systems. Diagnose and repair electrical faults quickly to minimise downtime. Carry out inspections, testing and condition monitoring to ensure compliance with electrical safety standards. Provide on-site technical support to production and engineering teams. Support the safe energisation and de-energisation of plant equipment for maintenance activities. Ensure power quality and system stability through monitoring, analysis and corrective action. Assist in power system upgrades, plant expansions and commissioning of new equipment. Recommend improvements to electrical distribution systems to enhance safety, reliability and efficiency. Collaborate with external contractors, OEMs and engineering partners when required. Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, test results and remedial actions. Skills & Experience Proven experience working with industrial or manufacturing power distribution systems. Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across LV/HV systems. Experience with switchgear, transformers, MCCs, control panels and protection devices. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings. Knowledge of regulatory standards and electrical safety practices. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under time pressure. Qualifications Time-served Electrical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent. HNC/HND or NVQ Level 3+ in Electrical Engineering (or similar). 18th Edition (BS 7671) qualification. HV authorisation preferred but not essential (training can be provided)
